Creating a petite with a style of it's own is surprisingly easy. People assume that because we all have the same mesh and same shape, we would all look alike, which is not the case.

We may have to become expert modders, or even designers ourselves, when trying to complete the perfect item to complete the perfect outfit.

In the end, we still retain our own unique identities, and are as varied as a rainbow.



This outfit came about due to the nails and the hair. I was recently given the task to help blog some new petites designers, or well, designers new to making petites items.

These nails are not free, but Kathrin Dassin of Moondance does have several other hunt gifts out(one of which was just blogged). She makes items for both men and women, and has just started to make nails for the petites now too.

I normally don't blog my own stuff, due to feeling rather tacky about it, but this hair is at the retro swap meet, which is ending tonight. It comes in petites and biggie sizes, and is unisex.



The horns are from my new horn shop, Lemon Tea. They are currently in the luckyboard. They are unrigged mesh, which I sized them down and tinted to match my outfit.

StashBash Fairy Haze

The third annual StashBash is coming to a close this coming week.

We normally don't cover whole hunts on this blog, unlike some, just due to the sheer size of most of them. This one is short, only 20 stores, so I could cover it all over a set amount of posts.

Co-Organizer of the hunt, Hempy, designer of ((RIPE)), had made this fairy last minute for the hunt, as she had just gotten a petite herself. It comes with everything but the avatar itself.



Just wanted to show you some of the detailing. Man for a Fairy of the Haze, she sure looks mad. Maybe you shouldn't look upon her while not under the influence? Better go get your hunt on!

The other wee folk in the back there is wearing the special surprise designer gift that you will find at the last stop in the hunt. What could it be? Whatever it is, it comes in petites and biggie sizes!

Welcome!

I was recently asked, more than a few times, if there was any way to making my posts on FreeStyle more easier to find for the petite community. I had already tagged them with not only my name, but also with the word "petites", hoping this would help when using search. I also post the blog post link on my flickr pictures.

Alas, there is still a cry for something easier.

So I will be double posting my posts, putting the same ones from FreeStyle up here. I might even add a few posts her and there featuring other petite related things.

I'm not going to promise that this will be super active. I do do one petites post a week on Freestyle(at least), so it wont be stagnant.

Please remember that I am a designer first, blogger second. Designing often takes up much of my time, though I LOVE blogging. Now that I am back in SL I promised myself to at least blog once a week, for my own sake, so there will be that.

I hope this helps those of you who have had a hard time finding my petite posts.

Mini MerMinnow

Someone in the Petites group chat wanted some help searching for a promo item earlier this week, and I thought, hey why not, I like free stuff!

Finding the item ended up inspiring the whole outfit you see today. I decided right then and there I just needed a mini mermaid for my petite avi. So thanks to Ketu, the designer of Shimmer, for putting this item on offer. It's expensive starting up a totally new avatar, and every little promotional item helps!

When I got wind that our wonderful FreeStyle sponser, Ghanima of BlueBlood Fame, had made a offer for petites, I ran on down to pick it up before I forgot. I tend to do that a lot when I'm in design mode, so it was a good thing. I bumped into my buddy Mina while there( she is the most awesome lil petite ever) and then Ghanima came to hang with us a wee bit.

Petites of the SL world, a little birdy told me that Ghanima has plans to take each one of her designs, make it soaking wet, throw it in the dryer for ten hours, and then bring out the massively shrunken goods. Rejoice! or go Emo, whatever you decide is fine by me!



I'm not sure how long this offer is for, so if you like to be a wee lil thing from time to time like me, or are a fulltime petite, you best head on down to BlueBlood as soon as possible.

Lil Wonder

I was checking out one of the petites stores on my weekly shopping rounds today, when a C came up on the Lucky Board. I asked my sis if she wanted it, and then tp'd her over. 3 letter changes over, and H came up. What luck! These things normally hate me, and I have to go sit by them on sorting day, just hoping to get SOMETHING.

Tragic Beauty is the name of the store that is offering a 4 pack of corset for petites this week. I decided to wear the black one. There is also a rust, pink and a green, with each a little different.

I have noticed they change their Lucky Board and MM Board often, so if you have a petite, it is worth it to go check on the store every once in a while.

Shopper Stompers

If I'm an ankle biter, than those people in the stores of SL are Shopper Stompers.
You buy some neko or cyber boots and think to yourself, man these are massive, and then proceed to where them. You go on mass with your fellow felines to the nearest Neko outlet that is having a sale. You put your most hyperactive AO on, cause you know, you want them to know you are the most playful lil kitty eva!

Never did it occur to you that your big arse boots might just be GINORMOUSDONKEYBOOTS to some little punk fae shopping at the same store. At least, not until you scrap her off your footpad.

Learning Mesh the Petite Way

My wonderful RL sister(Cherelle Capra of [CIRCA]) gifted me this petite avatar upon my arrival to the new sl. It was a big and scary concept to me, mesh hitting the grid, and how it would effect my store, but alas, this little creature made me feel a bit better.

With so few designer making things for these little mesh avatars, it wouldn't easy to make up a post on them, or so I had thought. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised, and did find enough things to clog up FreeStyle for a little bit, with all the epic tiny person cuteness!

The dress is from Evie's Closet. As with all her work, it is wonderfully crafted, the only issue being that the prim sleeve pop off when I have my hands on, and a girl needs her hands to do stuff, you know? In the pic below you will see the puff sleeve, with a handless(though you can't see) Helena. These little avis have a skin tint hud, which I had a tonne of fun with to get the right look for this set of shots.

The little mouth heart noms is a little gift from Heartistic. Little balls of light poof out of the noms, whih give you an even more mystical feeling while finding a flowerpot to live in.

DV8 also has joined the Petites bandwagon, and put out a bunch of outfits this week. Vasha was ever so kind as to make a gift, which are the bracelets I am wearing.

Last but not least is my fav find. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE eyes, so when I saw these I was so happy to have something easily accessible for my lil new me. You get 3 different colours in this generous gift from Painfully Divine. Each one went with the outfit, but I love the gold the best.
